Council Tax Officer
Location: Enfield (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: £19.27 per hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Contract: 3-6 months (with potential extension)
Berry Recruitment is recruiting a Council Tax Officer on behalf of our client in Enfield. You'll be part of the Revenues team, managing Council Tax accounts and delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service.
Key duties include:
Setting up and maintaining accounts, applying discounts/exemptions
Managing payment plans, enforcement, and pre/post-court work
Engaging with vulnerable customers professionally and empathetically
Ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies
Requirements:
Relevant qualification/experience in local government, collections, or benefits
Council Tax or revenues experience within a local authority
Strong communication skills and working knowledge of related legislation
Confident using MS Office and internal systems
Highly organised, accurate, and self-motivated
