Job Description Job Title: Controls Engineer (Contract – 6 Months, Outside IR35)\nLocation: Leicester (On-site)\nIndustry: Special Purpose Machinery / Automation\nContract Type: Outside IR35\nRate: Competitive\n\nWe are working with a specialist automation and special purpose machinery company based in Leicester, who are looking to engage a Controls Engineer on an initial 6-month contract.\n\nThis role is outside IR35 and requires strong experience in PLC programming and HMI development, working on systems such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Omron.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n PLC programming from scratch and modifications for bespoke automation systems\n\n * \n\n HMI design and integration\n\n * \n\n System testing, debugging, and commissioning\n\n * \n\n Collaborating with mechanical and electrical design teams\n\n * \n\n Supporting on-site installation and commissioning as needed\n\nRequirements:\n\n * \n\n Solid experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Omron PLCs\n\n * \n\n Proven background in HMI development\n\n * \n\n Experience working in the special purpose machinery or automated systems sector\n\n * \n\n Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\n\n * \n\n Able to work on-site in Leicester as required
