Contract Design Engineer

Elevation Recruitments Design & Projects team have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join a world leading manufacturing business based in Rotherham on a 6 month fixed term contract .Ideally having experience of working in a medium to heavy engineering / manufacturing environment with a passion for Mechanical Design, the Contract Mechanical Design Engineer will contribute to reducing plant downtime; improve plant performance and reliability by identifying and implementing engineering solutions in specific areas. Contract Design Engineer duties & responsibilities: • Produce clear and accurate designs in line with the project specification, budget constraints and associated standards, job specific and per legislation• Assist in all technical aspects of project work from process improvements to capital installations• Ensure that designs are completed to the required standard within the project timescale• Interact and liaise with inter-departments, communication of efficient and accurate design information• Producing concept designs and supporting calculations• Provide assistance with managing external contractors ensuring all aspects of a project are communicated including H&S, site/working practices etc Knowledge and experience:  • Minimum HNC/HND or above in Mechanical Engineering preffered• Use of SolidWorks, with knowledge of AutoCAD (desirable)• Wi...
