We’re looking for an organised, detail-oriented Compliance Assistant to join our team and support our mission to provide safe and effective staffing solutions to our clients.
Role Overview:
As a Compliance Assistant, you will be an integral part of our back-office team, ensuring that all education staff meet the highest standards of compliance by the DfE's Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines and other sector-specific regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end compliance process for all candidates.
Obtain, verify, and maintain critical compliance documents such as:
Enhanced DBS checks
Right-to-work documentation
Proof of qualifications (e.g. QTS, degrees, certificates)
Reference checks (covering a minimum of 2 years)
Overseas police check where applicable
Keep accurate and up-to-date records in line with Safer Recruitment and REC Audited Education
standards.
Maintain regular communication with candidates and consultants to ensure timely document collection and updates.
Flag and escalate any safeguarding concerns or compliance gaps for resolution.
Support audit preparation (internal, external, and client-based) by ensuring all records are audit- ready.
Stay informed of changes in education compliance regulations and contribute to updating internal policies.
Liaise with DBS providers, referencing companies and professional bodies as and when needed.
Be creative in sourcing information, offering guidance and support.
Key Requirements:
Experience in a compliance, administration, or recruitment support role.
Understanding of education sector compliance requirements and safeguarding principles.
Knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), GDPR, and right-to-work legislation.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Flexible to undertake team assistant duties as and when required.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
IT proficient, particularly with Microsoft Office, Excel and SharePoint.
Familiarity with CRM/compliance systems such as Bullhorn, Vincere, Eploy, or similar.
Platforms such as U – Check, NCTL, Credas, Right to Work, Sharecodes, UKCISA.
