Global Highland is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an enthusiastic and community-focused Engagement Specialist to join a growing team dedicated to making a real impact across the Highlands.
This is a highly visible, field-based role focused on building strong relationships, engaging with key stakeholders, and enhancing local presence in strategically important communities. You’ll work across defined areas in the far north of Scotland—including Wick, Thurso, and surrounding locations—supporting community initiatives and gathering on-the-ground insights that contribute directly to wider business objectives.
As part of a collaborative team of Engagement Specialists, you’ll connect with communities in both active and soon-to-launch service areas, helping to drive awareness, trust, and service uptake.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Coordinate and deliver local engagement activities such as sponsorships, events, and partnerships with schools, community groups, sports clubs, and hubs.
*
Strengthen community relationships by identifying impactful local projects where support can add real value.
*
Actively engage with residents and organisations both in person and through online community networks.
*
Support local marketing efforts and affiliate programs to help increase community-level service adoption.
*
Track and report engagement activity to identify best practices and build a database of successful community strategies.
*
Collaborate on local PR opportunities, helping to generate positive media stories and raise brand visibility.
*
Provide practical, on-the-ground support to customers and stakeholders, helping address local concerns and ensure a positive experience.
About You:
*
Background in community engagement, partnership development, or similar public-facing roles.
*
Naturally community-driven with a passion for creating meaningful local impact.
*
Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written.
*
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively.
*
Strong relationship-building skills and confidence communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, from elected officials to local volunteers.
*
Full UK driving licence is essential, as this role requires regular travel within the region.
