Job Title: Coachbuilder – Bus Company
Location: Darlington
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time | Permanent
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Coachbuilder to join our engineering team at our bus depot in Darlington. This is a hands-on role that plays a vital part in maintaining the appearance and structural integrity of our fleet following accidents or damage.
About the Role: As a Coachbuilder, you will be responsible for carrying out body repairs and restoration work on buses, ensuring all repairs are completed to a high standard and meet safety regulations. Your work will directly contribute to keeping our fleet in top condition and our passengers safe and comfortable.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out structural and cosmetic repairs to bus bodies following accidents or damage
Panel beating, welding, fabricating, and fitting new body parts
Replacing or repairing damaged body panels, bumpers, doors, and windows
Preparing and finishing vehicles for painting
Ensuring all work meets company and industry standards
Keeping detailed records of repairs and parts used
Working closely with the engineering and paint shop teamsRequirements:
Previous experience as a coachbuilder or in a similar body repair role (commercial vehicle experience preferred)
Strong skills in welding, fabrication, and panel work
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
A good eye for detail and high-quality workmanship
Awareness of health and safety procedures
Flexibility to work shifts as requiredWhat We Offer:
