HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver - Flour Deliveries
Location: Pontefract
Salary: £44,264 per annum
Hours: Contracted 48 hours per week (currently averaging around 40 hours)
Shift Pattern: Any 5 days from 7 (initially Mon-Fri)
Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

Operate Class 1 vehicles for bulk flour deliveries (tanker trailers)

Operate Class 2 vehicles for flour deliveries in rigid curtain-sided vehicles

Majority of deliveries are palletised; some manual handling (e.g., 16kg flour sacks) may be required

Complete vehicle checks, defect reporting, and follow driver hours/tachograph regulations

Maintain food safety and hygiene standards

Deliver goods professionally and courteously to customers

Requirements:

Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, CPC & Tacho card

Physically fit for occasional manual handling

Knowledge of transport compliance and safety

Reliable and professional with a flexible approach

Additional Info:

Paid overtime (beyond 48 hours) and on-call rest period rota (1 in 4)
