Bookkeeper

A well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice near Solihull is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a stable and friendly team where employees tend to stay long-term. Our client is offering a salary of up to �29,000, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday with free onsite parking.

This position is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper with strong knowledge of VAT returns, management accounts, and general bookkeeping tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with the accounts team to ensure accurate financial reporting for a variety of clients.

Bookkeeper Job Overview

• Preparation of VAT returns and tax returns
• Recording and reconciling purchases and expenses with appropriate nominal codes
• Recording and reconciling bank and credit card transactions
• Processing double-entry bookkeeping for wages, including PAYE, SSP, pensions
• Managing accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and loan interest journals
• Liaising with the accounts team to ensure accurate financial records

Bookkeeper Job Requirements

• Experience is the key requirement-industry or practice experience both considered
• Good knowledge of Journals, Accruals, and Prepayments
• Proficiency in Sage 50, QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel
• AAT qualified (or qualified by experience)
