Job Description
To ensure Hassell’s Building Information Modelling (BIM) capabilities through training, process and technology implementation. The role of BIM Coordinatoracts as anintermediary, coordinating and helping teams with Revit, whilst overseeing the production of detailed, design documentation, components and materials for construction projects. The role supports both the Project/BIM manager and Studio BIM Lead.
Key tasks and responsibilities
BIM Coordination and daily management of BIM project data sets/workflows and project set up for large complex or multiple projects.
Review and understand BIM contractual obligations and provide advice to team as required.
Collaborate and provide recommendations to Project Leaders to manage BIM deliverables and documentation.
Reviewing and auditing projects to ensure standards, regulations, contractual obligations and processes are being met and maintained.
Improve project delivery outcomes through the application of appropriate design technology related techniques and strategies.
Manage the model (or Model Element Author’s), assessing compliance with agreed Project BIM deliverables.
Thorough knowledge of, and compliance with, ensure utilisation of Hassell’s procedures and BIM and Revit standards.
Lead project BIM setup through establishment of project specific Digital Engineering and BIM Management Plans, including preparation of model component Level of Detail (LoD) to existing Hassell Model Element Matrix standards.
Set up Project BIM’s including project structure, definition of BIM deliverables, data exchange formats and effective workflows.
Establish and chair Project BIM strategic & model management coordination meetings including their planning, both internally and when collaborating with clients and consultants.
Directly support project team modelling of complex geometry, project staging requirements and model coordinate setups as well as manage resolution of complex BIM design and delivery challenges.
Run and review clash reports with the project team and general contractor, leading this process when required.
Establish and implement project management framework and review project schedules with Model Managers to ensure delivery is on time and tothe required standard.
Work with Client and Consultant BIM Leads on project systems as required.
Qualifications
A seasoned BIM Manager with a passion for driving global Design Technology initiatives, you bring a strong background in BIM methodologies and technologies, coupled with the flexibility to tackle diverse tasks in our dynamic environment. If you have a knack for collaboration and a desire to enhance design and project efficiency, this is a role for you.
Proven high level Revit and BIM experience on large complex projects, driving BIM deliverables for the project team and client.
Proven experience in implementation of BIM standards and workflows in line with company and client BIM standards and BIM objectives.
Proven experience in delivering government BIM requirements, including COBie, or otherasset classification system would be desirable.
Experience across other BIM design and delivery tools (e.g. Navisworks, Rhino, Dynamo, ACC, Aconex, dRofus)
Understanding and implementation ISO 19650 requirements.
Strong computational, programmatic analysis, analytical and graphic skills using Dynamo, Grasshopper, Power BI would be desirable.
Extensive experience with troubleshooting in Revit and other BIM tools.
Extensive experience managing BIM processes and teams to meet project goals and deliverables.
Experience establishing Project BIM requirements including project structure, definition of BIM deliverables, data exchange formats and effective workflows within a team.
Strong communication skills and ability toconsult with a variety of stakeholders to consult and present.
Effectively collaborate with others and able to share information.
Acute attention to detail
Confident and proficient in contractual, financial, negotiation environments
