Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain effective 1:1 mentoring relationships with targeted students
*
Plan, prepare, and deliver tailored one-to-one support sessions addressing barriers to learning
*
Provide support to students facing social, emotional, or mental health challenges that impact their ability to self-regulate in lessons
*
Uphold and apply the school’s behaviour and relationships policy with calmness, consistency, and fairness
*
Implement a variety of behaviour management strategies to positively support student development
*
Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to monitor progress and adjust support strategies
*
Help manage incidents and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively and safely
The Ideal Behaviour Mentor Will Have:
*
Hold valid Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
*
Have experience working with children or young people (this could be in education, youth work, sports coaching, social care or similar)
*
Positive attitude and high energy when approaching your work
*
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
*
Experience within a Pupil Referral Unit or alternative education setting is desirable but not essential
