We are seeking a passionate and dedicated teaching assistant with experience in supporting students with autism to work in a wonderful special needs school in Haringey. As a teaching assistant, you'll play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with special educational needs. If you have an in-depth understanding of autism, along with a commitment to promoting individualised learning and encouraging social-emotional growth, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
•
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with autism, assisting them in academic tasks, social interactions, and behavioural management. •
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment by promoting acceptance, empathy, and understanding amongst students. •
Monitor student progress and behaviour, documenting observations and communicating effectively with parents and caregivers. •
Stay informed about strategies for supporting students with autism, participating in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualities:
-Experience working with individuals with autism. -Demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills -Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students -A positive and proactive attitude, with a passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of students. -Ability to create a supportive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered.
