Applications Engineer – CNC Machine Tools
Location: Coventry-based with UK & European Travel
Salary: £45 - £57k + Company Car + Pension + Healthcare
A well-established engineering solutions provider, known for delivering advanced CNC machine tool systems and automation, is expanding its team and currently seeking an Applications Engineer to support turnkey project delivery across the UK and Europe.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role supporting the installation and optimisation of high-performance CNC machining systems. You’ll be responsible for delivering full turnkey engineering packages—from developing machining strategies and CNC programming to on-site commissioning and operator training.
Key Responsibilities
Plan machining strategies and generate CNC programs (Fanuc, Okuma preferred)
Conduct prove-outs and deliver First Article Inspections (FAI)
Meet all Acceptance Criteria for turnkey project delivery
Deliver comprehensive training to customers on machine operation and programming
Support new technology integration, including CAM software and simulation tools
Travel to customer sites throughout the UK and Europe as required
Ideal Candidate
Minimum 4 years' experience in a machine tool or production engineering environment
Background as a CNC Setter/Operator or Production Engineer
Strong knowledge of NC programming languages (Fanuc and/or Okuma experience advantageous)
Exposure to CAM software for program creation and simulation (preferred)
Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
