Financial Controller
Bangor
Monday – Friday
 
The Financial Controller is responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Company and ensuring financial integrity, control, and continuous improvement of financial  systems  and  processes. This position  is responsible for assuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely fashion to allow executive management to make informed business decisions.
 
Financial Management and Reporting:
Oversee the processing of all invoice payments and client transactions
Maintains comprehensive and accurate financial records using accounting software
Oversee reconciled bank accounts and credit cards, ensuring accuracy and completeness
 
Team Leadership and Management:
Supervises finance and accounting functions, ensuring effective team performance and adherence to policies
Assigns and allocate tasks based on team members' strengths to optimize   operational efficiency
Monitors the daily performance of the accounting department, setting clear objectives for performance
Mentors and develops the finance/accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Models’ behavior consistent with CORE values, setting the same expectations for their team
 
Process Improvement and Policy Development:
Works with leadership to suggest and strategically develop internal  policies and procedures to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness
Identifies and address areas for process enhancement, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all financial operations
                
Collaboration and Strategic Input:
Works closely with senior management to provide insights and recommendations based on financial data analysis
Supports strategic decision-making with detailed financial analysis and reporting
Fosters and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction
 
Compliance and Additional Duties:
Maintains knowledge of current and emerging regulations within assigned areas, including changes in laws
Ensures compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
Performs other duties as assigned
 
 Required Education and Experience:     

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline is required
Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is a plus
Must have extensive experience in financial management and accounting
A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a related position is required
Prior experience in a supervisory role is required
