As part of their mission to create a greener future, Sisaltech Ltd. are looking for an enthusiastic, local individual to grow their accounting knowledge in line with the growth of our business. This is an exciting opportunity for an accountant (part-qualified would be considered) to contribute to a company at the forefront of sustainability while advancing your accounting career.
You will have a grounding in bookkeeping, and be keen to support the business using your skills with numbers to develop reporting of both past performance and forecast trends. Day to day duties will include managing a Xero based ledger system with variance analysis, cash and payroll management as well as liaising with all statutory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present monthly management accounts to support decision making.
Prepare quarterly board papers.
Prepare an annual budget and financial models to support projects as required.
2. Financial Management:
Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
Monitoring of cashflow to support efficient working capital management.
Record keeping in relation to stock control.
3. Audit and Compliance
Support the annual accounts process (the accounts are prepared by an external tax accountant)
Prepare quarterly VAT return and other HMRC Corporation tax filings as required.
4. Collaboration and Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, enhancing efficiency.
Work with Marketing and Sales staff to track KPI's and support Sales career development opportunities, including support for further professional qualifications.
Essential:
Part-qualified or recently qualified (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Experience in a finance role, preferably manufacturing, construction or sustainability-focused environment.
Experience of Xero and strong Excel skills.
Experience of delivering monthly management reporting information.
An eye for detail.
Proactive and organised.
Desirable:
Experience within the construction industry and building materials.
Knowledge of climate change and sustainability.
The confidence to propose new and improved processes.
