We are looking to recruit an experienced Fitter to join our clients accommodation workshop in the Highlands, Nairn Depot.
Job Role
* Carrying out general maintenance, servicing and pre hire checks of generators and towed equipment in accommodation units and towable welfare units economically and efficiently.
* Liaising with Stores Department to book out filters/spare parts needed to make sure stock is correctly maintained.
* Diagnosing and carrying out repair work to single and multi cylinder diesel engines.
* Ensuring all towed units are safe, roadworthy and in a ‘ready for hire’ condition.
* Carrying out annual inspections to towed equipment to meet company compliance policies.
* Working closely with the accommodation foreman and team to ensure units are in a good condition and on hire as and when customer requires.
* Documenting any issues with units as a result of customer damage and raising paperwork to ensure customer is charged appropriately.
* Carrying out maintenance and repairs to plant trailers, water bowsers, towerlights etc if and when required.
* Attending site breakdowns to repair/service units if and when required.
* Ensuring tools and work area is kept clean and tidy.
Essential Criteria
* NVQ in mechanics/plant fitter/generator fitter or similar.
* A Minimum of two years' experience working with diesel engines.
* A good knowledge of towed equipment is desirable.
* Must be comfortable working with and have a good knowledge of 12v and 240v electrical systems.
* Previous experience working with generators.
* Must supply own tools
