Year 6 Teaching Assistant Croydon
We are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant who can effectively support SEND children within a Year 6 Class who have been diagnosed with ASC and ADHD.
You will be working closely with a variety of pupils who can become easily distracted and dysregulated in class. Your role is to work closely with the Year 6 Teacher to develop and implement strategies to ensure they remain engaged and on-track.
Extensive support is available from the schools wider SEND team and ASC training is available. There are plenty of resources available which the incoming Teaching Assistant can utilise during the school day/
Year 6 Teaching Assistant Job Requirements
2:1 or higher degree grade and excellent A-Level and GCSE grades.
Have a strong understanding of ASC and ideally have previous experience working in this field.
Be dedicated and resilient and able to handle moments of challenge with a positive outlook.
Be calm, patient and understanding and passionate about inclusive education.
Enjoy making learning fun to inspire, motivate, engage and enthuse pupils.
Be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community.
Be a team player and good communication skills.
Graduates with aspirations of training as Psychologists/Counsellors/Wellbeing Practitioners would be well suited to this role.
