Void Property Inspector

Full Time, Permanent position
Here at Howells, we are working with a leading, UK contractor and regeneration group to find successful and proactive Voids Property Inspectors to join their team in Hastings, working on voids contracts for the MoD.
The position reports to the local business unit and will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal customers and external customers/Organisations. Working on MoD properties undertaking, Move Out, minus 5, Move In and monthly safety inspections.
What will you deliver?
Oversee the effective, compliant and timely delivery of void preparation, maintenance and response works in accordance with Government Regulatory and Statutory undertakings, complying with all Health & Safety and Environmental standards and policies.
Be passionate and proactive in the continuous improvement of safety on contracts delivered by the client's operatives and contractors.
Provide technical support to operations on a day-to-day basis.
Carry out Work In Progress Inspections on direct labour, agency staff and contractors ensuring that the client complies with current regulations, standards and manufacturer's instructions.
Monitor Supply Chain service delivery, value for money, quality and safe working to ensure all performance indicators are consistently achieved.
Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure they are to an acceptable standard.
Review site risk registers, follow maintenance and management processes and notify Management of any defects on equipment or systems.
Undertake inspections on the service delivery in accordance with the levels defined for an agreed area and all issues are recorded and actioned accordingly.
Ensure that M&E equipment, boilers and the like, are correctly set to work (controls set back for frost protection or heating systems drained and disabled), tested and commissioned. For this role, we are looking for somebody with previous experience with Health and Safety or Property Maintenance, with an understanding of how a repairs and voids contract works, along with impeccable time management and communication skills to work within a fast paced, ever changing environment.
