As a Technology Platform Manager at The Travel Corporation, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and resilience of our business platforms. You’ll collaborate with Product Owners, Service Delivery experts, and development teams to ensure that technology platforms meet current and future business needs. From managing development teams in Poland and the UK to coordinating with outsourced teams in India, you’ll ensure that our platforms stay ahead of the curve, providing seamless support to the business.
Position Summary
The Technology Platform Manager leads skilled teams to ensure robust, scalable platforms that meet current and future business needs. They focus on continuous improvement, measuring performance, and adapting to change. As key collaborators, they support professional standards, drive process improvements, and embrace agility while aligning with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop software development teams, motivating them to maintain high professional standards.
Ensure compliance with security standards and ensure platforms are up to date with security updates.
Implement and uphold in-house IT standards (architecture, design, development, and testing) within teams.
Provide a managed and secure platform deployment process with zero downtime.
Measure team performance and regularly review it with tech stakeholders, implementing continuous improvement actions.
Maintain the Technology Platform strategy, keeping in touch with market solutions and working closely with suppliers.
Monitor platform health and scalability, ensuring smooth and reliable operation.
Prepare reports, dashboards, and performance overviews for stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Drive process improvement and consistency of development approaches across platform teams.
Support 24/7 on-call support or escalation as needed.
About You
5+ years of hands-on IT Development management experience.
Proven track record of implementing and improving development processes, ideally in multi-site, global, or regional settings.
Experience in process and team performance reporting.
Extensive experience in development for websites, in-house custom applications, off-the-shelf packaged applications, and third-party API interfaces.
Ability to manage conflicting business and technology development priorities, including escalations with third-party suppliers.
Knowledge of enterprise technology platforms and systems change management issues.
Strong technical background with the credibility to influence technical development.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate both internal and external teams.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Preferred
Experience in the travel industry or systems development consultancy is a plus.
