Teaching Assistant - Making a Difference in a Primary School in Southampton!

Position: Teaching Assistant

Salary Range: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour
Location: Southampton
Start Date: Immediately
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young learners? Do you possess the skills to support positive behaviour in a school setting? If so, GSL Education is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a school in Southampton.
About the Role:


As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for students. This includes supporting with their education, but also their holistic development, such as students’ communication, social skills and independence.

Your responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies.
  • Providing one-on-one/Small group work support to students.
  • Collaborating with the school's SENCO and other professionals to create tailored intervention plans.
  • Supporting the overall well-being of students and contributing to a positive school ethos.

Desirable experience and qualifications:


  • Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or psychology would be advantageous.

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
