SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (actual salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. You will be working with students aged 10-19 who have a range of complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and other related conditions.

The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students in their academic and personal development, helping to create a safe and positive learning environment. Your role will include working closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored lessons, as well as supporting the well-being and behaviour management of the students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities.
  • Provide regular feedback on student progress.
  • Monitor and report on student development in line with school policies.
  • Support students in maintaining focus and managing behaviour.
  • Encourage students' social, emotional, and academic growth.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for student transport on a rota basis).
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
  • A Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A positive, flexible attitude with a desire to help students succeed.
