Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Systems Engineer / Senior Sytems Engineer with Human Factors Experience. The successful will work within the System team performing Systems and Human Factors Integration activities in support of the Systems in development, manufacture and in-service.
Please note that this role is for Contract or Permanent.
Responsibilities
experience of working in defence on HFI projects
experience of working on AFV projects
Understanding of MOD DE&S HuFIMS
Understanding of systems requirements and the process of undertaking system evaluations
Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent education with relevant experience.
Applications are also welcomed from individuals with significant demonstrable experience who don't hold formal qualifications.
CEng or demonstration that working towards chartership.
Member of a relevant institution, or relevant experienced and capable to register with Engineering Council
Essential skills
The Safety Engineer will be required to have the following skills and experience;
Experience supporting HF work within either the Civil or Defence
The development of Human Factors reports, completing HF Assessments, HF and Spatial assessments and providing HF Argument for Design Authority Approval
Ability to author HFI and Systems Engineering documentation, collate supporting evidence.
Production of Engineering reports.
Participate and lead HAZID and HAZOP sessions.
Experience of HuFIMS management processes.
Performing analysis using recognised methods.
Risk Management.
An understanding of system development lifecycle against the standard 'V-model' from concept to disposal
Assessing supplier compliance, in accordance with legislative and contractual requirements.
Desired skills
Experience working in high hazard industries
MoD standards / Def Standards
Systems Engineering Experience with requirements management.
Experience with Systems Engineering tools such as Enterprise Architect and DOORS is desirable.
Compilation of Arguments and Evidence using Goal Structuring Notation (GSN) is desirable.
