My client is looking for an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of a greenfield enterprise data lake based on the Microsoft Fabric toolset.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of data architecture, working on a project that is halfway through the design phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Present clear solution designs to senior stakeholders and guide the ongoing development of the data lake.
- Lead design workshops, addressing complex security and service model needs with minimal guidance.
- Experience with cloud-based solutions, particularly Microsoft Fabric (preferred) and Purview, to support enterprise data lake architecture.
- Help define a structured approach to migrate various data sources into the lake using a pattern-based methodology.
- Knowledge of the medallion framework for data organisation and governance.
- Proficient in data integration, warehouses, streaming, and transformations using Azure tools.
- Understanding of Data Lake security models and API contract design (AWS preferred).
- Familiarity with RBAC models leveraging EntraID (preferred).
- Lead and own the creation of the Data Solution Architecture for the greenfield project, including full documentation.
- Align business drivers with technical solutions, addressing opportunities and identifying areas for improvement.
- Define standards and solution patterns, ensuring alignment with the future-state architecture.
- Involved in procurement, conducting market research, documenting non-functional requirements, and evaluating vendors.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of data compliance, governance, security, and ethical considerations in a cloud environment.
- Expertise in data modeling techniques (entity relationship, enterprise data, dimensional, integration).
- Experience with reporting and analytics, especially using PowerBI (Synapse is a plus).
- Knowledge of DevOps/DataOps methods to ensure automated and controlled data pipelines.
