The Client

Our client who are skilled interdisciplinary team offers a comprehensive range of construction consultancy services across a wide range of sectors: housing, education, health, care, blue light, commercial, and regeneration and mixed use. They are an industry leader. They specialise in analysing defects and put together efficient, effective recovery plans for any property type, included listed buildings.

The Role

Provide excellent customer care by providing a quality service that does more than just focus on quality outputs, which must be considered the minimum standard. Quality customer care will involve matching, or preferably, exceeding client expectations so that we become their preferred regular supplier.

Grow the Project Management and Quantity Surveying service by assisting the Group Head in recruiting quality members of staff.

Proactively meet new clients in the residential sector each month and form a close relationship with the Senior Partner, Director of Partnerships and Director of Business Growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional looking to take on an equivalent Senior/Strategic role while having a clear path for progression into higher-level responsibilities.

Proactively manage the fees relating to projects that you are assigned as the ‘Project Team Leader’ by ensuring that the fees are accurate in terms of value and forecasting at all times on the project.

Project Responsibilities

Prepare budget estimates, cost planning, and manage tendering procedures.

Formulate briefs, fee proposals, and present schemes or services.

Prepare tender documents, assess and negotiate tenders.

Manage interim payments, final cost assessments, and contract variations.

Attend project meetings, take minutes, and manage day-to-day project execution.

Develop and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project.

Liaise with clients, present schemes, and manage project delivery.

Act as Contract Administrator/Employer's Agent on various building projects.

Conduct site visits, issue inspection reports, and prepare feasibility studies.

Design and present project proposals, including cost estimates.

Obtain necessary statutory approvals (Planning, Building Control).

Prepare specifications, schedules, and tender documents.

Oversee contract administration, ensure compliance, and prepare maintenance manuals.

Delegate tasks while maintaining overall responsibility for achievement.

Project Team Leadership responsibilities

Undertake all duties in accordance with Practice procedures.

Be responsible for other members of staff, co-ordinating their workload and ensuring their tasks and duties are carried out in accordance with Practice procedures.

Requirements

M

inimum 5 years post-qualification (BSc (Hons) degree or similar in Building Surveying/ Quantity surveying/ Project Management) experience and/or breadth of knowledge and competence commensurate with this position.

MRICS or Associate membership of RICS or equivalent recognised qualification
