An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and knowledgeable Ecologist to join the ever-expanding, highly successful ecology team of a UK-leading, reputable, multidisciplinary consultancy. The team can proudly say that their work makes a genuine difference, as they promote innovative nature-based solutions and work towards a carbon net zero agenda. Working with the vibrant Exeter office, you will be a part of the company's larger South West branch, and contribute to a range of frameworks and projects, both local and national. You will get to work collaboratively with internal and external clients, as well as mentor more junior members of the team.
In order to be considered for this Senior Ecologist role, you will:
* Have a degree in Ecology or another closely related field.
* Have membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or be eligible to apply.
* Have a successful history of project management, including technical, financial and quality assurance aspects.
* Have a working knowledge of UKHab classification and Debra Metric.
* Have strong botanist skills. FICS Level 4 is desirable but not essential.
* Have interest in aquatic botanical surveys, otters, white clawed crayfish and water voles.
* Have a full, clean UK driver's licence.
* Be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Be confident in a client-facing role.
Working as a Senior Ecologist you will:
* Take lead on nationally important infrastructure projects and managing frameworks.
* Collaborate with talented multi-disciplinary teams.
* Undertake stakeholder engagement.
* Plan and undertake field surveys, and analyse and interpret the data produced.
* Design and coordinate ecological mitigation.
* Author and review a range of ecological reports and licence applications.
