Become an integral part of the emergency services Operational team as the Risk, Safety and Claims Manager. Where you will be responsible for the setting out the strategy and direction for the Service’s commitment to maintain high standards in health and safety and the management of claims.
In the Risk, Safety and Claims Manager role you will be:
Creating an organisational environment of improvement through new ideas, organisational process, and cultural change initiatives
Proactively reviewing the health and safety system to reflect changes from external influences and in response to staff engagement
Analysing, interpreting, and presenting complex data/issues to a range of audiences both orally and in writing
Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders
Using organisational skills such as ability to balance competing priorities; deliver project goals on time; and maintain a supportive management role
Looking for opportunities for improvement and lead a team to produce new ideas and approaches; produces a range of solutions to problems
To be considered for the Risk, Safety and Claims Manager role you must have:
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification in Health and Safety
Trained/educated to a recognised Project Management method ie: Prince 2
Ability to interpret Health and Safety legislation in the context of the Fire Authority
Ability to produce written policy and explain complex concepts succinctly
Excellent oral communication skills, including presentation and training experience for different audiences
Track record of delivering customer focussed Health and Safety services to detailed timetables and specific deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, persuade and communicate with people at all levels within the organisation and with local, regional, and national stakeholders
Ability to manage resources to meet competing and sometimes complex objectives and demands
Highly developed political awareness and reputation management skills
Strong management skills, including leadership and motivation skills
This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week on a salary of £40,578 - £43,570, per annum plus company benefits. The role is normally located at headquarters in Rhyl; however, agile working is available from a combination of home and alternative service locations, some flexibility will be required for evening and weekend work
