About this Role:
Experienced Project Manager required to take the lead for the delivery of a �20m new build steel framed manufacturing building in Portsmouth, located just off the M27. Main works are due to commence on site in the late summer/early autumn. Some early enabling works and a service diversion are already underway on site. This is a negotiated project for a key client with a good pipeline of future works in the area.
Reporting to the visiting Operations Director and working with a Site Manager and Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the construction of the project through a circa 52 week construction programme to handover in late 2025.
This Project Manager role will involve regular client liaison, construction methodology, sequencing and programming of works, raising TQs and RFIs and managing the flow of information, health and safety, quality control, input to procurement, identifying and mitigating potential risks, issue resolution and ensuring delivery of the scheme on specification, programme and budget.
As Project Manager you will lead your project as an autonomous No1 holding ultimate responsibility for the smooth and timely progress construction on site throughout.
The project is a 4 storey new steel framed building to provide mostly manufacturing space with extensive MEP services in and also communal canteen facilities and office space for the staff; It is a full turnkey scheme for the client, so building a positive working relationship throughout will be critical to the success of the project.
About the Company/Client/Project:
This Project Manager role is with a busy regional South Coast based main contractor group, with a turnover in excess of �50m, and secured workload in the education, defence, industrial and retail sectors in the Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset areas.
Projects range in size from the smaller �2m up the �20m in value. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Project Manager looking to work regionally with a well established contractor.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will be an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record within an established main contracting organisation, demonstrating the ability to deliver D&B schemes up to �20m in value. Key attributes will include excellent client, design team and site team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus focus and drive.
