Production Manager

We are looking to hire an experienced, performance driven Production Manager to plan, coordinate and control all Production activities with a focus on achieving budget and Production targets whilst initiating and implementing continuous improvement plans.

Our client is a global player within the industrial OEM, industrial distribution, MRO and automotive sectors. They are at the forefront of developments in designing, manufacturing and supplying power transmission products and solutions, to meet and exceed the demanding expectations of industrial and automotive applications.

They are seeking to recruit a Production Manager to manage and coordinate their UK manufacturing plant

Ideal Location: Wigan, Bolton, St Helens, Manchester, Warrington, Liverpool, Chorley, Oldham, Runcorn, Bury, Stretford, Oldham, Runcorn, Bury, Stretford, Rochdale, Stockport, Northwich, Blackburn, Preston

The role

  • Manage and coordinate the Production function of the UK plant - creating and implementing Production strategy action plans.
  • Ensure Production targets are achieved according to customer expectations.
  • Initiate and control plant equipment investments.
  • Introduce and implement a culture of continuous improvement, promoting lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Work closely with segment, business unit and divisional functions to understand Production requirements, demands and feedback.
  • Manage shop floor training.
  • Work in accordance with health and safety (HASAW) act and comply with company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepare, review and manage the budget and forecasts of the UK plant, ensuring timely submission of financial data.
  • Ensure the daily and monthly Production plans are fulfilled including corrective action plans.
  • Ensure the operation of all Production and rework processes and equipment, working in close cooperation with the maintenance team.
  • Verify in-process quality control and final inspection according to standards and planning.
  • Support Production performance KPI monitoring and reporting and control measures to improve performance.

The candidate

  • An individual with an engineering degree would be highly desirable, however candidates with relevant hands-on experience will also be considered.
  • Previous, successful tenure in a Production Manager
  • You should have cross-functional experience with the ability to operate across engineering, quality, supply chain and lean manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, including functional and disciplinary responsibility.
  • A knowledge of quality management.
  • You should have a desire to bring about change and improvements, where required.
  • This role would suit a performance driven person with the ability to utilise Production data to improve performance.
  • You should be a problem solver and decision maker.
  • Our ideal candidate will have a knowledge and experience of rubber or plastic Production process although this is by no means essential.
