SENCO - 1 Year Contract�

Location:�Harrow

Contract Type:�Full-time OR Part Time�

Start Date:�February half term

Salary: UPS / Leadership Scale Outer London (paid directly with the school)



We are working with a firendly & supportive mainstream primary school based in Harrow, who are looking for a suitably experienced SENCO either on a FULL TIME OR PART TIME basis from February half term, on a 1 Year Maternity contract.�



About the Role



As SENCO, you will:




  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.

  • Ensuring that school policies and procedures are in line with the latest governmental SEN policies and regulations

  • Ensuring that the school is equipped with adequate equipment and facilities for special educational needs, including wheelchair accessibility and audio-visual learning aids

  • Preparing and leading SEN training for Teachers and Teaching Assistants

  • Assessing the specific educational needs of children with learning disabilities and providing recommendations for their support

  • Producing regular reports and updates on the educational progress of children to Senior Teachers and parents

  • Providing referrals for children to receive support outside of school hours, from Therapists, Medical Specialists or Tutors



Requirements for SENCO role;




  • A qualified teacher with QTS and significant experience working with children with SEND.

  • NASENCO - National Award for SEN Coordination

  • In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and external professionals.

  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity within the school community.
