Job Title: Contract Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Daily Rate: £85 - £115 per day (depending on experience)
Exemplary post-16 College located in the London Borough of Greenwich is recruiting dedicated and skilled Learning Support Assistant (LSA) who has experience supporting older students between 16-20 years old. This is a Monday to Friday 8:20am – 4:30 pm position to start immediately!
The ideal LSA (Learning Support Assistant) mus0074 have experience in post-16 education, classroom support, and working 1:1 with students, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and behavioural challenges. Additionally you will have supported young people within a classroom setting and given additional support with their classes.
- You have worked in a similar position with young people of college ages on a 1/;1 basis.
- Provide individualised support to students with ASD, ADHD, and behavioural difficulties within post-16 educational settings and supporting in their personal subject(s).
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or able to pay for a new one ASAP
- You live in commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich.
- Assist the classroom teacher in managing and supporting student behaviour to create a conducive learning environment.
- Work 1:1 with students to help them achieve their educational goals, ensuring they stay engaged and on task.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that respects and values diversity.
- Assist with classroom management, preparation of learning materials, and other administrative tasks as required.
- Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and appropriate behaviour.
- Collaborate with other educational professionals, including SEN coordinators, therapists, and external agencies.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, special education, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with post-16 students, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, and behavioural challenges.
- Strong understanding of the principles and practices of inclusive education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
