Are you a creative marketer with experience in creating strong visuals, copy and assets to effectively promote design-led gift products, from games to boxed card products, jigsaws to crafting kits? Can you devise and execute content plans to set budgets, working with the sales and publishing teams to provide materials that will excite trade partners and end consumers? Do you have experience in product-focussed social media marketing and reporting? Can you brief, shoot and edit stills and video for a range of platforms? Can you produce graphics and assets for sell-in requirements that pitch our products in an engaging and convincing way?
World-renowned illustrated publisher Thames & Hudson is looking for a Marketing Executive for our gift list, launching this autumn. Reporting to the Marketing & Communities Director, you will work closely with the marketing, sales and editorial functions at Thames & Hudson, alongside external platforms, media and partners, to build the brand, market the products and titles, and contribute to the strategy as the list establishes itself. You will also proactively identify and execute ways to promote the list, whether that’s through mailings to select print and online media, working with bloggers and influencers, finding parenting networks to feature some of the gifts and running content partnerships and giveaways.
The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for social media, email marketing, and design-led products. We are keen to find someone for who is specifically looking for a part-time role.
The Role
Devise a marketing plan and timeline for the list’s launch and first year.
In consultation with the Publishing Director for Gift Lab, create / commission compelling, engaging digital content for our website, newsletters and social channels to include copy, static imagery, audio, video and animation.
In consultation with sales, produce materials needed for pitch and sell-in meetings in a timely fashion.
Research, identify and build lists of brand partnership, media, blogs and influencer opportunities and work with them to drive awareness of our products.
Demonstrate effectiveness of the marketing activity using analytics and reporting.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience in devising content plans, working to a calendar and reporting on outcomes.
Experience in briefing and on occasion creating visual content for products and / or books, both still and motion graphics would be a bonus.
Video editing and captioning for social media desired.
Working knowledge of, and experience with key tools such as social media scheduling and monitoring software (Hootsuite or similar).
Adobe Creative Suite skills would be valuable.
Ability to create persuasive sell-in materials such as pitch decks and marketing plans.
Persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
A strong visual sense and appreciation for the arts
Able to prioritise and work across channels and projects, in collaboration with colleagues.
Meta advertising experience would be an advantage but not essential.
