THE ROLE
As our business evolves, we’re looking to appoint a Machinist to strengthen our busy Machine Shop. Creating bespoke parts for a variety of high-performance vehicles and completing projects to precise customer specifications, our machinists are integral to continued development.
The role responsibilities include:
Setting and Operating 3 and 5 axis CNC Machining Centres and Lathes,
Writing and proving programs using HyperMill, Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.
Maintain and control a current tool inventory.
Checking and maintaining lubricants and coolant levels.
Operate manual milling machines, lathes, grinders, and hand drills.
Work with jigs and fixtures.
Machine parts to our specifications, record contract documentation, complete time sheets correctly and maintain a high standard of workmanship.
Ensure parts proceed to the next process with correct labelling procedures.
Clean machines as appropriate.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking to bring a group of self-motivated team players together with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
The candidate should be educated to a Level 3 standard or equivalent qualification in Machining, along with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Machine Workshop.
You should have a good knowledge and understanding of engineering principle, with an ability to read engineering drawings and inspect your own work on both small and large batches using various materials to tight tolerances.
You should pride yourself on your attention to detail and be capable of delivering a high standard of performance and quality whilst working to strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
You should be confident programming CNC machines with previous experience in a similar environment as a CNC Operator.
You should have strong communication skills and be well organised with the ability to fit into a small team.
You should have good computer skills and be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite as well as confident learning and using new computer-based platforms.
