Legal Counsel

This role is fully office based at Arora Group Head Office in Heathrow Area (5 days per week, Monday - Friday).
As a
Legal Counsel
, you will provide advice on a diverse range of legal matters and report directly into the General Counsel. You will aim to promote a high quality and cost effective legal function whilst aligning with the culture and strategy of the company. You may have either a private practice or in-house background but must be able and will to adapt to working within a fast paced, demanding business. Whilst a construction / construction litigation background would be highly desirable, applications from candidates of all backgrounds will be welcomed provided there is a demonstrative commitment to developing into a general Commercial Counsel.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting the General Counsel in helping both deliver strategic projects and addressing the day-to-day needs of the group
Negotiation, drafting, and reviewing of complex commercial contracts
Act with autonomy and take responsibility to carry out and complete assigned tasks and projects
Provide general legal advice and support, including research, legislative updates and assistance with compliance matters
Deal effectively with a broad range of legal matters including corporate, commercial, regulatory, financial services and litigious matters
Managing internal processes and ensuring proper stakeholder engagement and good governance throughout contract lifecycle
Supporting the GC regarding management of outside legal counsel when appropriate.
Work with the General Counsel to develop and roll out new template agreements, policies and legal procedures and help ensure all legal processes and procedures are being followed and adhered to
Skills & Experience
Legal Qualification – Qualified UK solicitor with 0-3 years PQE experience (will consider other PQE levels and qualified lawyers from other common law jurisdictions with eligibility to sit QLT)
Methodical approach with an attention to detail
Strong commercial outlook and pragmatic approach to legal practice
Solid training from a reputable law firm and/or business
Experience of working in a fast-paced, commercial and demanding environment
