Assistant Service Manager - Langdon Park (Teddington)



Job title: Assistant Service Manager



Salary: £28,000 per annum pro rata

Hours: 39 hours per week



Location: Teddington



About the Role



We are seeking an Assistant Service Manager to play a vital role in supporting both the team and individuals with a learning disability care provider. They provide a diverse range of needs, including autism, mental health conditions, Down syndrome, moderate learning disabilities, and challenging behaviours. Langdon Park consists of three connected houses, with a current team of one manager and six support workers providing care for nine individuals.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Leadership & Management:


    • Supervise, motivate, and coach a team of support workers.

    • Act as the Service Manager in their absence.

    • Oversee staff training, development, and performance (e.g., supervisions, probation management).

    • Manage rotas effectively.



  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct weekly and monthly audits (finance, medication).

    • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

    • Oversee medication management (ordering, storage, disposal).



  • Support for Individuals:

    • Provide day-to-day care, both at home and in the community.

    • Promote personal development and independence through tailored activities (e.g., arts & crafts, gardening, swimming, social outings).

    • Assist with personal care needs.



  • Decision-Making:

    • Use management data to make informed decisions.

    • Foster a solution-focused and person-centred culture.





What You'll Bring






    • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities or mental health needs.

    • Supervisory or management experience (or willingness to train for it).

    • A passion for providing person-centred support.

    • Organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively under pressure.

    • Flexibility to work various shifts.

    • A full manual driver's license is highly desirable.
