Learning and Development Advisor
Location : Wymondham, Norfolk, NR18 9SZ
Salary: £36,648 - £39,186 per annum
The Education Trust was established in 2016 with the purpose of bringing like-minded schools together to work in partnership to deliver a world class education to pupils in Norfolk and Suffolk. The Trust currently consists of 7 secondary schools and 10 primary schools, educating over 5,500 pupils. Their schools range in size from the largest state boarding school in the UK, to several very small, rural schools and they all share the belief that high quality education is broad ranging and embraces strong extra-curricular provision and an expectation that all pupils can and should achieve.
The Role
The Trust seeks to appoint a Learning and Development Advisor to support the successful delivery of a Trust wide Training and Development strategy. The successful post holder will report directly to the HR Director but work collaboratively with other key stakeholders including Trust Central staff, headteachers and school staff.
The post-holder will be required to comply with the Trust Code of Conduct for Staff and Volunteers. The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The post-holder will have access to and be responsible for confidential information and documentation. They must ensure confidential or sensitive material is handled appropriately and accurately.
The post-holder shall participate in the Trusts programme of Performance Management and Continuing Professional Development.
A non-exhaustive list of specific responsibilities for the role is below and you will be required to undertake other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the HR Director, develop and implement a learning and development strategy for the Trust.
Produce, implement and monitor a Trust Development Plan and a Trust wide Training Policy.
In conjunction with the Systems Development Manager, develop, test and implement the iTrent L&D platform for requesting, recording and reporting training;
Develop reports and data relating to the L&D function and report to the HR Director monthly;
Determine and assess the Trusts training and employee development needs, through proven methods of assessment e.g. skills gap analysis.
Develop and source specific targeted training to meet the Trust objectives.
Manage training requirements and the processing and coordination of L&D requests;
Monitoring Trust wide training activities and reporting against Trust training targets
Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of Trust training programmes
Keeping up to date with latest training trends, developments, and best practice
Facilitating and coordinating Trust training activities
Manage and support the development of apprenticeships across the Trust.
Overseeing a Trust training budget
Be able to facilitate and deliver in-house training to a diverse audience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Be flexible in managing and planning daily, weekly, monthly workloads;
Have very good time management, planning and organisational skills;
Able to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team;
The qualifications and previous experience required of the Learning and Development Advisor are:
A CIPD or Organisational Learning and Development level five qualification, with a strong interest in learning and development (or a keen interest to undertake this development as an apprenticeship, subject to course availability) or relevant L&D managerial experience.
Must be organised and detail orientated
Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver to a room of delegates;
Have demonstrable skills in project management and change
Excellent understanding of what makes training effective, with curiosity about emerging approaches and delivery mechanisms
Experience of evaluating the impact of learning and development to continuously develop their offering
Experience in learning and development including knowledge of learning management systems
Confident in interpreting data and analysis
Proficient in all MS-Office applications, Excel, PP, Word and Sharepoint.
