Launch Engineer - Chassis

Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Launch Engineer - Chassis to be based at our customer location in Coventry, the UK.
Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
The Role
The Chassis Launch Engineer is responsible to work with Chassis Engineers and Plant teams to lead, update, track and manage Build BoMs, Reworks and part supply to builds.
Area of Responsibility
This position is responsible for maintaining processes, planning for parts and leading issue resolution workstreams with appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas. You will have responsibility for:
Support Launch meetings in plant to represent Chassis
Use BoM's effectively to identify gaps and plan resolutions and report out gaps
Use PFEP (plan for every part) process to support builds
Lead, Manage and report out ETS/Production part supply route and plans
Manage plant team closely to identify any escalations and identify/raise risks/obstacles well in advance.
Work with Engineers and tool rooms/suppliers for proto parts quality, cost and plan for delivery and report out in appropriate forums
Collect and provide data for senior reviews
Supportreviews with Proto MP&L
Provide data for and attend daily High Hurts reviews.
Collate and present data for vehicle quality and integrity meeting programme specifications.
Support component engineers to ensure quality resolutions of all build related issues.
Recording and presenting PROTOTYPE (NON-SALEABLE) deliverables to Senior Management.
Support PROTOTYPE (NON-SALEABLE) Build Quality Operating System during builds.
Support a team to deliver Plant Score Card requirements and targets.
Encourage continuous improvement and report performance across all levels of PROTOTYPE (NON-SALEABLE) Build.
Support for the whole team including Engineers to resolve significant technical issues whilst balancing other business factors.
Liaise with Manufacturing facility teams, Site Services and external contractors to provide feasibility and design of new equipment and facilities for forthcoming builds and PROTOTYPE (NON-SALEABLE) Build improvements.
Support / Collate information for the Process Chain events.
Support / Collate information for the Dry Build, ECube, and PCF process / events.
Raise and maintain relevant build related AIMS, and help drive robust closure actions
Support WCPA feedback sessions, and liaise with component engineers to drive PCA, and ensure that containment is in place quickly.
Analysis of FMS deck, and drive robust closure of any emerging issues on the fleet.
Knowledge / Experience
Essential:
Proven capability demonstrated by experience within a product development/Launch environment in a similar role
Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels,
PC Literacy: Excellent Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word etc skills
AIMS/WERS/Alerts/PFEP/RIS/ETS etc.
Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Chassis domain, organisation and understanding of the areas of interaction
Knowledge of Build activities, issues, resolutions processes and reporting
Readiness to be onsite 5 days a week or as required
Preferred:
CAD Literacy: ability to visualise CAD data and use associated visualisation tools.
Working knowledge of project & Plant delivery processes e.g. PPAP Working, PSWs, Rework instructions etc.
