JOB DESCRIPTION – Software & Automation Engineer (LabVIEW)

Growing company who provide high-precision measurement and calibration solutions to a broad range of industries. As they continue to innovate and expand their capabilities, we're looking for a skilled and driven Software & Automation Engineer to lead the development of custom test and automation solutions, with a focus on LabVIEW-based systems.

All roles are open to UK & EU Passport holders and candidates who have ILR status as the company do not sponsor at this time.

The Role:

This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone with strong LabVIEW programming experience, a passion for solving real-world technical problems, and a good understanding of electronics and measurement type systems. You’ll work on the design, development, and support of bespoke software and hardware automation solutions, used internally and by our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop automation and test systems using National Instruments LabVIEW

Create user interfaces and control systems for measurement and calibration equipment

Integrate hardware such as calibration equipment to software

Collaborate with the engineering team on system design, testing, and deployment

Assist in debugging, validating, and maintaining existing LabVIEW applications

Support the setup and maintenance of automated test stations

Contribute to documentation and system handovers

What we're looking for:

Proven experience with LabVIEW (ideally certified or with a strong portfolio of work)

Solid understanding of electronics, including signal types, interfacing, and basic circuit design

Familiarity with measurement instrumentation (load cells, pressure sensors etc )

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to design and testing

Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly

Desirable:

Familiarity with calibration processes or standards

Basic Schematic capture & PCB design experience using KiCAD software

Ability to assemble and test prototype hardware

Knowledge of Git software version control

Experience working with Linux operating systems

Knowledge of SQL Databases

* Competitive salary : £45k - £50k (depending on experience)

* Full-time (37.5 hours), permanent role based in the UK office

* Working Hours: 09:00am to 5:00pm, Monday – Friday
