Laboratory Manager
I am recruiting for a Laboratory Manager for a commercially focused laboratory that operates within the Biotechnology Sector.
As the Laboratory Manager, you would be managing a team, planning and organisation of work loads for the staff and ensuring that quality standards are met.
The Role:
• Planning and organisation of workloads for the Scientists, Laboratory Assistants and Technicians.
• Pro-actively manage the smooth running of the laboratory to deliver the required performance to support company objectives.
• Reviewing and improving current practices and procedures to raise standards within an ISO##### environment.
• Liaise with the other departments to coordinate the daily running of the lab.
• Implement appropriate KPIs to monitor and support continuous improvement in the Laboratory Management Team.
• Data recording / storage and the upkeep of laboratory procedures, methods, and protocols.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment, including repairs and service contracts.
• Ensuring that all reagents and lab supplies are available when needed, to meet commercial and R&D needs.
• Implement a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure the laboratory runs efficiently.
The Candidate:
• Ideally 3+ years’ experience as Laboratory Manager in a biotechnology or medical device company.
• Experience of ISO#####.
• Minimum of BSc honours level degree in Chemistry, Biology or Biochemistry would be desirable.
• Proven track record of Continuous Improvement.
• Experience of managing Health & Safety/Environmental Systems would be an advantage
