Arriva Traincare have an exciting opportunity for a Training and Competence Manager to join the team. Reporting into the Head of Depots you will be responsible for managing and leading the Arriva TrainCare Training and Competence Team to meet the operational, safety and quality needs of the business.

Contract: Permanent contract working an average of 37.5 hours per week

This role will be based within the Crewe depot however there will be a requirement to travel to ATC's depots.

What will this role of Training and Competence Manager entail?

  • Ensuring that all safety critical staff are trained in accordance with required industry, legislative and internal standards
  • Work with the Operational and Engineering Teams to ensure a robust CMS is in place and under regular review
  • Ensuring operational managers are aware of and undertake their duties in respect of training and competency compliance management
  • Delivery of training and competency assessments in person when required
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of T&C budget
  • Day to day management of the Training and Competence team, including 1 to 1 reviews and personal development plans
  • Responsible for ensuring that changes to standards are incorporated into training material and competency assessments
  • Supporting the Engineering Team with technical development training where required

Qualifications

  • Qualified to HNC or equivalent in Engineering
  • Engineering apprentice trained with rolling stock experience is desirable
  • Relevant assessors' qualification
  • Certificate in Training Practice or another recognised training qualification
  • IQA Assessor experience and formal qualification to Level 4 or equivalent
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Full and valid driving licence

Experience

  • Previous experience of delivering driver training and assessments on numerous types of traction is essential
  • Rail Vehicle/ Rolling Stock Engineer and safety experience
  • Experience in successfully leading a training and competency team
  • Knowledge of vocational qualifications, supporting structures and awarding bodies e.g. NVQ's , Apprenticeships

Kenect Recruitment are looking to recruit a number of General Operatives for our client in Norton Canes, Staffordshire.

Duties will include:-

  • Loading and unloading steel bars (weighing upto 19kg)
  • Completing re works on the bars (training given)
  • Re-packaging of the bars into the same stillages

Successful Candidates will be required:-
  • To be physically fit
  • Ok with heavy lifting
  • Work well within a team
  • Have good attention to details
  • Ideally have worked within the steel re-wroks industry previously
Hours of work will be:-
  • Monday - Thursday - 08:00 - 16:30
  • Friday - 0800 - 14:30

Pay rate is £9.50p/h

This is a long term role for successful candidates potentially leading to a permanent role with the company.
