Tradewind are currently recruiting for five Teaching Assistants to work at one of our client schools in Cheshire West and Chester. The positions are due to start in September 2021, these positions are due to continue until October half term however may be extended and could become permanent for the right candidate.

The school are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants who will be comfortable working in small groups and providing 1:1 support. The successful candidate must be friendly and confident and ideally will have experience working with children across the 11-16 age range.

To be considered for this position as a Teaching Assistant in a Cheshire West & Chester secondary school you must:

  • Ideally have experience working with secondary aged children
  • Have knowledge of the UK national curriculum
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service, or be prepared to undertake a new disclosure
  • Be able to provide a minimum of 2 references, covering the last 2 years, including your most recent education reference
  • Have a full and complete 10 year career history

Arriva Traincare have an exciting opportunity for a Training and Competence Manager to join the team. Reporting into the Head of Depots you will be responsible for managing and leading the Arriva TrainCare Training and Competence Team to meet the operational, safety and quality needs of the business.

Contract: Permanent contract working an average of 37.5 hours per week

This role will be based within the Crewe depot however there will be a requirement to travel to ATC's depots.

What will this role of Training and Competence Manager entail?

  • Ensuring that all safety critical staff are trained in accordance with required industry, legislative and internal standards
  • Work with the Operational and Engineering Teams to ensure a robust CMS is in place and under regular review
  • Ensuring operational managers are aware of and undertake their duties in respect of training and competency compliance management
  • Delivery of training and competency assessments in person when required
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of T&C budget
  • Day to day management of the Training and Competence team, including 1 to 1 reviews and personal development plans
  • Responsible for ensuring that changes to standards are incorporated into training material and competency assessments
  • Supporting the Engineering Team with technical development training where required

Qualifications

  • Qualified to HNC or equivalent in Engineering
  • Engineering apprentice trained with rolling stock experience is desirable
  • Relevant assessors' qualification
  • Certificate in Training Practi
