Description:

  • The clinical psychologist's role will be to lead on the delivery of neuropsychology interventions for patients with neurological conditions admitted to the hospitals, with the support of assistant psychologists
  • The role involves working as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, music and art therapists, and others
  • The clinical psychologist is responsible for providing neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation for patients with neurological disorders as well as providing support for their families and carers. This includes cognitive rehabilitation, psychological therapy to help with emotional adjustment and engagement in rehabilitation, behavioural interventions, teaching and consultation
  • The post holder will be responsible for the clinical and professional supervision of the assistant psychologists.

Requirements:

  • Post-graduate, doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology
  • Current registration as a Clinical Psychologist with over 2 years of experience
  • Previous experience in adult neuropsychology, ideally in acquired/traumatic brain injuries or other neurological illnesses, including spinal cord injury, or similar
  • Motivation to work within a dynamic and team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to learn, and work within the service development sector, apart from the clinical one
