This is a wide ranging role, enabling the subsidiary company (SLC) to achieve its mission and overseeing project and programme performance and progress towards the mission. Accountabilities: * Reports to the Head of Programme and works closely with other members of NDA based on site and elsewhere. * Ensures NDA shareholder responsibilities for Performance and Governance: * Ensures leadership within / across major streams of work. * Provides regular reporting as required to the NDA Board and Government on subsidiary/PBO Governance, management and on the performance of subsidiary/PBO to achieve the mission * Management of the change control process applied to lifetime plan. * Manages all aspects of the NDA assurance process * Identifies opportunities from lessons learned: put in place process of corrective action/improvement plans and cross estate learning. * Influences the performance of the subsidiary by independent support and challenge * Ensures that the NDA interface with government is maintained and managed with meaningful information and reporting * Tests business competency and capability: evaluate compliance, including underpinning of plans, process robustness and application and assessment of performance outputs * Oversees the programme risk. * Regular NDA reports, review and interpretation of business reports to provide a true picture of performance to the NDA Executive and Board * Maintains appropriate intelligence and knowledge of plans, performance and capability at the subsidiary/PBO in order to achieve the accountabilities Knowledge, Skills and Experience required: * Professional project management qualification is essential. MBA preferred. * Experience in nuclear decommissioning strongly preferred. Preferably both client and contractor/consultant side. * Demonstrable experience leading major investment programmes and leading a large, multi-disciplined programme workforce. * Good stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage relationships with Government officials. * Good commercial acumen. * Track record of successful delivery of highly complex projects and programmes of work, typically in in excess of £150m capital expenditure; hands on delivery essential. Deconstruction experience preferred. * Experience of working in a regulated environment. * Experience of managing a highly complex grouping of contractors and suppliers, with competing demand and priorities, with detailed understanding of the complexities of UK Supply Chain.
