This is an excellent opportunity for a Linux Server Specialist with Red Hat administration experience within an enterprise environment, to join a critical national infrastructure transformation project. Although the preference is for this position to be based in Wellingborough, there is the opportunity for the successful candidate to be based in Warwick. Reporting to Infrastructure Architect, you will be the Linux Red Hat subject matter expert responsible for specifying, delivering and supporting a new ICT Infrastructure for a programme of work, which will enable business transition, transformation and business as usual activities to be completed. You work closely with a team of ICT staff including Server, Infrastructure and Storage Engineers and Database Administrators. You manage 3rd party suppliers including requirement specification, product selection, technical liaison, technical compliance, inter-dependencies between suppliers, testing, scoping of support contracts and transfer into operations. You will have end to end responsibility for the specification, design, configuration and deployment of the infrastructure, including all technical documentation, statements of work, process maps, handbooks, user guides, training and successful transfer into operations. Other responsibilities to include: Delivery of the infrastructure including: Data Centre, Server build configuration, Virtualisation, Software deployment, Security patching, Storage and backup configuration, System monitoring and Database administration Creation of business process, requirements documents, technical specifications, physical designs, and statements of work for delivery by 3rd party infrastructure providers Selection of data centre and delivering the infrastructure build within the data centre and configuration of tools to support the infrastructure Capacity and availability, monitoring and reporting of the infrastructure Configuration and testing of the disaster recovery and business continuity processes Migration of legacy systems into transformed environment Provision of all contractual documents required by the customer for the infrastructure environment Delivery of the 3rd party products and technical management of sub-contractors Managing the Unit, System and User Acceptance Testing activities associated with the infrastructure and supporting similar activities for applications Managing the go-live and change management processes and ensuring compliance with the customer?s acceptance processes Infrastructure patching and upgrades in accordance with the change management process Supporting the transition of applications and systems into operational serviceSkill, experience and qualifications required: Extensive Linux Red Hat experience within an enterprise environment, including implementation, administration and management of security products including encryption, server patching, anti-virus and security event and incident management Experience of delivering and managing ICT infrastructure within a regulated customer facing environment Experience of configuring infrastructure to be delivered in a hybrid private/public cloud environment Implementation of virtualisation products within a 3rd party datacentre, server build and software distribution solutions and storage and backup products Experience of Linux and Windows Active Directory integration Good knowledge of automation of OS builds via kickstart processes and task automation Experience of managing disaster recovery events Ability to create clear and concise documentation Knowledge of ISO27001, ITIL processes / procedures and project management processes Strong communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team and on own initiative Preferably RHEL qualified Eligibility for SC clearanceExcellent Employee Benefits: telent is committed to ensuring that we offer industry leading career opportunities, salary and benefits packages.
