I am looking for a Solution Architect who has strong experience with defining DevOps services (specifically Google Cloud Platform), to support a new end customer on behalf of of a large software provider.

This role will be remote for the foreseeable, and requires an immediate start where possible.

Outside IR35.

The Role:

  • You will be working in a consultative manner, pre-sales, on large scale multi-site migrations from DataCentre to GCP (applications and servers, etc).
  • Responsible for application migration to GCP as part of a wider on-prem to GCP cloud migration.
  • You will be in a customer-facing role, demonstrating a strong ability to confidently challenge the customer where appropriate, to fully understand the requirement, from discovery to design/delivery of solution.
  • You will be expected to architect and create designs on the solution for the build team.
  • Lead the client engagement, end to end, and utilise internal engineers for delivery.

Skills/Experience required:

  • Very strong platform and/or DevOps engineering experience, specifically with Google Cloud Platform
  • Hands-on experience with GCP is essential for this role
  • Proven experience with leading project teams, from an engineering perspective
  • Proven experience delivering on-prem to GCP migrations
  • GCP Certifications are highly desirable
  • The ability to re-architect an existing software system so that it is modern and container-friendly
  • Greenfield platform building and/or large scale migration experience is essential
  • You must have commercial experience with the following:-
      1. Containers, Docker and/or Kubernetes
      2. Terraform/Cloud formation
      3. Linux
      4. Ansible, Puppet or Chef
      5. Estate and Patch management
      6. CI/CD
      7. Coding/Programming experience, ideally with Python
