The client specialise in groundworks and civils projects with a special focus on RC basements and RC frames and as such require someone with previous experience managing health and safety on large groundworks and civils projects. The role will see your time split equally between site and office and will see you report in to the Managing Director with full autonomy for managing the health and safety function incorporating environmental and quality management. You will have full control of health and safety setting and maintaining the highest health and safety standards helping to develop policies and procedures and assisting with bids and tenders. The company have a robust health and safety strategy with strong policies and procedures in place and the role will see you work closely with contracts managers at a strategic level to develop that strategy in line with changes in regulations and legislation and the needs of the business. The company is accredited to ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 (45001) with an office manager maintaining the IMS to which you will have overriding responsibility to maintain. You will also spend approximately half of your time visiting sites undertaking site inspections or audits advising and guiding the site management team and workforce. The successful candidate will be NEBOSH or similarly qualified, an influencer with strong communication skills, confident and outgoing able to engage with stakeholders at all levels with experience of groundworks and civils construction projects specifically RC Frame or basements.
