Our client is a long established company and leader within the Maritime Sector based in the North of Scotland Reporting to the Head of HSEQ, they are now looking to recruit a permanent Environmental Manager. Job Purpose You will coordinate and lead the environmental responsibilities and support the broader environmental/sustainability agenda. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Produce an Environmental plan that sets out our key initiatives and milestones for delivery that support our sustainability agenda. Represent the SHEQ & Executive Leadership Teams (ELT) on environmental matters. Represent the SHEQ & ELT at internal/ External meetings/conferences. Represent the company as a pivotal member of the Energy Transition Zone working group. Represent the company in external affairs concerning environmental management. Coordinate and lead the ongoing development of ISO14001:2015 Complete programmed Audits & Inspections as scheduled by the Integrated Safety Management System My Compliance. Provide advice on environmental policy and legislation compliance to the team. Coordinate the monitoring and review of environmental legislative changes and the potential impact on the business. Undertake regular reviews of the performance of personnel and contractors with regard to meeting environmental operating standards through site visits, inspections and/or audits. Undertake site visits to review and support line management in their completion of investigations into the causes of events and the identification of root causes and preventative measures. Coordinate, support and advise on planning for implementation of Sustainability 2021 objectives and ensure processes are effective in delivering environmental limits. Support local management in their liaison with clients and port users by attending meetings and other events such as working groups Prepare a consolidated monthly environmental report. Working with the HSSEQ Compliance Advisor to develop and maintain training and advisory documents and deliver training and advisory sessions to personnel. Participate in the creation and review of Environmental Aspect Assessments Work with Head of SHEQ and HSSEQ Compliance Coordinator on Legal Compliance reviews Maintain all environmental licensing requirements Respond to any Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 requests as per policies & procedures Personal Qualifications & Experience The following qualities/experience are essential: Degree in an Environmental discipline and an IEMA practitioner membership Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
