The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for delivery of LDD Engineering and Operations and the provision of equipment and crew requirements in a safe and efficient manner.



Duties

  • Accountable for QHSE performance in both onshore and offshore operations while driving a proactive focus on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality culture throughout operations
  • Part of the Senior Management Team and therefore expected to engage in meetings, Group reporting, strategic initiatives and budget process with emphasis and focus on global operations.
  • Promote effective communication and engagement between all departments to ensure efficiencies and delivery is at the highest level.
  • Working together with the Senior Management Team, determine, promote and control strategic and tactical plans for the business with specific focus on Engineering, Operations, Logistics and Project Delivery
  • Effective management of all line reports, including scheduled performance reviews, mentoring & coaching, recruitment strategy and identification of high potential individuals for promotion/development
  • Management of Projects, logistics and crewing departments to ensure a smooth transaction of equipment and crew from operations to projects. This includes oversight of the contractor selection.
  • Management of Engineering department to promote best in class equipment design, analysis and support to the projects and operations teams.
  • Management of the operational QHSE requirements of engineering activities to maintain alignment with regulatory, industry and customer requirements.
  • Provide support to the Workshop Manager and Asset Manager to Maintain and improve equipment tracking, Maintenance schedules and servicing and the general running of all yard operations.
  • Management & development of operations and engineering budgets for both direct costs and controllable fixed costs.
  • Provide support to the Engineering Team Leader to oversee engineering approach, sales/tender engineering support and project engineering delivery as well as the general running of internal and external engineering projects.


Required

  • Demonstrable leadership skills, ability to manage change and analyses and improve business processes.
  • General working knowledge of plant engineering, quality assurance practices, safety, and environmental management.
  • To have a broad knowledge of the fundamental principles and application of best practice relating to: -
    • Manufacturing and assembly processes.
    • Engineering materials.
    • Structural elements.
    • Machine elements.
    • Analysis techniques either by hand or using finite element methods.
    • Hydraulic systems.
    • Classification society rules and regulations, e.g. DNVGL, Lloyds Register, NORSOK, API.
    • Candidates with pile top drilling knowledge will have a distinct advantage.
    • Lifting, handling and grouting knowledge not essential but preferred.
  • Excellent listening & communication skills and internal/external customer support.

  • A relevant qualification in LGV maintenance (HNC would be preferable)
  • Independent Road Transport Engineer membership (or able to obtain if successful)
  • IOSH health and safety qualification
  • Experience of managing a large fleet operation efficiently and in line with budget

  • An excellent understanding of the legal regulations that surround fleet maintenance and management
