Electronics and Manufacturing jobs Looking for jobs in Electronics and Manufacturing?

Do you have a methodical mind? Are you a critical thinker as well as having a strong interest and desire in technology? Or perhaps you have an aptitude for maths. You're in good hands, as our jobsite the helpful job search platform provides the best vacancies that include electronics engineer and manufacturing engineer jobs. Read on to see the facts and figures of your chosen career in Electronics and Manufacturing!

Electronics

The UK has the 6th largest electronics industry in the world with a 98 billion pounds annual turnover and 1,000,000 related jobs. An indication of this fact is that 25% of all graduate engineers studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The average salary of all electronics engineers is calculated around 44,000 pounds. The starting salaries for electronics engineers are around £21,000 to £25,000.  When working at an incorporated engineer level, you can earn £28,000 to £40,000. However, as a senior engineer, you can expect a salary between £40,000 and £65,000, where chartered engineers earning at the top of this scale.

Did you know that 90% of smartphones contain electronics designed in the UK?

So join this promising market and maybe you will be the one who will answer us:

If you plant a light bulb in your garden, does it grow into a power plant?

Manufacturing:

On the other hand,  manufacturing engineer contributes 25% of the country's GDP making the UK the currently 9th largest manufacturing nation in the world.

UK manufacturing includes roles such as part-time factory jobsproduction technician and a production line worker, therefore employing 2.7 million people, meaning that you will earn an average of  £32,500.

Yet, if you want to become a  production team leader, this role accounts for 45% of total exports, totalling £275bn. Also if you are thinking of becoming a manufacturing operator, you will represent 69% of business research and development as well as providing 13% of the business investment.

There’s a very old fable that will help you to understand your role as a  manufacturing engineer

Six blind men were asked to describe an elephant.

They reached different conclusions depending upon which part of the elephant they touched:

  • Side – it’s like a wall

  • Leg – it’s like a tree

  • Trunk – it’s like a snake

  • Tusk – it’s like a spear

  • Ear – it’s like a fan

  • Tail – it’s like a rope

This example goes on to show that UK manufacturing cannot be adequately explained through basic observation and analysis. You will be learning how to take a broader look at the responsibilities if you are thinking of either becoming a production supervisor or a production manager.
