This is an opportunity to work in a high performing and experienced team. The hours of work will be 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30 - 16:30. Nature and Scope Full time position in the Huterston B Chemistry Team where you will be undertaking sampling and chemical analysis to support safe reliable operations. The job scope includes; sampling & analysis of coolant circuits, oils and effluents; supervising chemical tanker discharges; testing and issuing of confined space gas instruments; running lab QA and QC; ensuring lab chemical stocks; calibrating and cross checking instruments. Principal Accountabilities As a Chemistry Technician you will be responsible for: Ensuring safe and efficient sampling, analysis and result reporting. Ensuring quality-control standards of laboratory, plant and confined space instrumentation. Conducting laboratory techniques such as titrations, gas/liquid chromatography, UV/VIS spectrometry and ICP emission spectrometry. Preparing chemical samples, standard solutions and chemical dilution tanks. Reporting of anomalies to Assistant Chemists to instigate actions. Carrying out routine sampling and analysis in line with company, environmental and safety legislation. Managing laboratory consumables and adhering to high chemical safety standards. Carrying out chemical dosing and assisting bulk chemical tanker discharges. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience As a minimum, entrants will be educated to National qualification standards (or equivalent).
