We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to work throughout Lairg and the surrounding areas. The role of a Meter Reader is to visit customers in their homes/businesses to collect information including reading their gas and electricity meters. The attributes of a Meter Reader are: - a friendly attitude - the ability to plan work effectively - self management skills and self-motivation - good local knowledge of Lairg and the surrounding areas - computer literacy as you will be using a hand-held computer This is a retained post for 5 hours per week with the expectation of 40-45 hours per week when work is in the area every quarter. The rate of pay is £8.91 per hour. You will be working on an appointment basis so you must be able to work flexibly. Self-motivation and the need to succeed is imperative. Experience of working outdoors would be beneficial as you will be required to work in all weathers. Full training is provided so experience is not necessary. We are looking for people with a full UK National Insurance number and a 5-year checkable history. We need you to hold a full European driving licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points and have your own transport with business insurance cover. Any business mileage incurred can be claimed back at the rate of 35p per mile. A vacancy has arisen for Waste Advisor Support at NDA Dounreay. The purpose of the post is to provide waste support to the Shaft & Silo project & to promote document compliance with waste legislation and adherence to DSRL waste strategies. The Job Holder will be responsible for working with the Waste Advisor Team to provide advice on compliance requirements and the site’s waste strategies and preparing consignment documentation for DSRL site and projects. Responsibilities: * Consign waste in accordance with the Waste Management System. * Attend Planned General Inspections. * Interface with internal stakeholders on waste management, e.g. attend Local Work Programme meetings and Work Scope Hazard reviews. * Produce waste documentation in line with project and legislative requirements, e.g. Project Specific Waste Plans. * Support the identification and resolution of waste problems and incidents. * Support the sharing of good practice, lessons learnt and improvements. * Understands and support best practice methodology (BPM) and justifications. * Attend internal waste related groups and support tasks as required * Perform the responsibilities of Management Appointments relevant to post, including Area Waste Officer. * Support appointed waste officers to ensure issues associated with waste consignments are resolved in a timely manner. Candidate: * Minimum 2 years relevant nuclear experience * Good written and oral communication skills * Self-motivated and pro-active approach * Knowledge of waste consignment and associated documentation would be advantageous * Willing to undertake further relevant training Security Clearance: SC, but can commence on BPSS
