Queen's University is seeking an experienced leader to join us as Interim Director of Human Resources to guide and implement significant HR transformations of our People and Culture Directorate, ensuring alignment with the University's strategic objectives. Reporting to the Associate Vice President Operations & Projects this critical role is required for a period of 9 months with a focus on providing professional HR leadership, driving operational excellence in HR management and supporting the achievement of ambitious cost-saving and efficiency targets in 2024/25. Queen's University Belfast is an anchor institution in Northern Ireland employing nearly 5000 people. The Interim Director of P&C will be responsible for: Leading and managing the effective delivery of a fully integrated People Strategy and a comprehensive range of HR functions in support of the institution's key strategic objectives and core values. Leading operational delivery of People and Culture services across various functional areas including Organisational Development, Reward, HR Business Partnering, Recruitment, HR Systems and Services, and Equality Diversity and Inclusion. Actively collaborate and support a People and Culture Transformation project. The current organisational structure of the Directorate has a current Establishment of 92 staff and is based on four departments: HR Business Partnering including Recruitment and Extended Workforce; Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing; Organisational Development and Reward; HR Systems and Services. Who We Are Looking For: Extensive relevant Human Resource leadership experience, at a senior level, in a large and complex organisation. A large/complex organisation is defined as one that matches 2 of 3 criteria: * Annual Turnover greater than £25.9 million * Balance Sheet Total of more than £12.9 million * Average number of employees of more than 250 Membership of the CIPD at Chartered level MCIPD or FCIPD. A proven record of successful leadership and achievement at a senior level, including evidenced improvement of operational delivery and performance improvement across an organisation. A track record of achievement in implementing progressive Human Resource strategies, policies and procedures. Further criteria is available in the Candidate Information document on our website.
